Southern Negros Coastal Development Program
(SNCDP)
This program was spearheaded by the provincial government of Negros Occidental to answer the alarming condition of coral reefs in the Southern Negros areas. The areas are composed of the municipality of Cauayan, City of Sipalay and the municipality of Hinoba-an. In support to the province's program, the Philippine Reef and Rainforst Conservation Foundation, Inc. executed a project called "Underwater Survey for the proposed Marine Protected Areas in Cauayan, Sipalay and Hinoba-an, Negros Occidental". The plan aimed to develop a marine protected area management plan for the established MPA's as a means of conserving, protecting and rehabilitating the remaining coastal and marine resources in Southern Negros Occidental.
