PRRCFI is always on the lookout for individuals with the passion and heart to help maintain Danjugan Island (our main project), and assist us in our other programs and initiatives. Volunteers in the following areas are always appreciated:
Science
In Danjugan Island, we've discovered at least 72 bird species, 9 bat species, 22 butterfly species, 17 mangrove species, 572 fish species, 244 hard corals, 8 seagrass species, 74 microalgae species, 13 echinoderms species, 27 species of Nudibranchs, many invertebrates including 4 giant clams, 2 kinds of marine turtles, dolphins and whales and 7 habitat types....and the list goes on and on and on.....Isn't this a haven for biologists?! YOU might be the next one to discover a new species on the island!
Education
Meet people from around the globe, both young and old, and impart the significance and interrelatedness of Danjugan's ecosystem and biodiversity. Help us teach the local community and government units that they hold the key to ensure the sanctuary's and their environment's survival.
Hospitality
Do you love to cook? We dare you to demonstrate your culinary skills using the local produce. Can't cook? Not a problem! If you can sing any song, do handstands, talk about the weather, name the stars or guide a group of people around the island and ensure that everything runs smoothly, then you're our guy!
Oh yes, ecotourism experts are more than welcome too!
Warden
This is where the action is!
Patrolling Danjugan Island involves high speed boat chases and poacher arrests with jail action. Ok, there may be lean times when all you'd do is just watch the sunset. But hey, who's complaining?
If you are interested in lending us a hand, please send a cover letter and your CV to prrcfi@yahoo.com.ph.
